Adding a bit of “coziness” to our worship – Jan. 29

First Lutheran to celebrate Danish “Hygge” worship and potluck event.

First, what is “hygge”? Well, it translates roughly from the Danish as “coziness.” It is a time of warm candles, super soft blankets, and oversized scarves. It is all things cozy. Hygge is one way the Danes combat the long, dark winters. After Christmas is over, the long periods of dark can be a struggle. So hygge helps alleviate the seasonal blues. How do we pronounce this “hygge”? It is pronounced “hoo-gah.” On Sunday, January 29th, we invite you to come to worship in your cozy comfortable clothes or even pajamas if that works for you. Bring a blanket or some pillows to soften up your pew. We will provide the warm worship and candles. Then for the potluck the church will provide the main dish. We encourage the A-L group to bring their favorite winter dessert and the M-Z folks to bring their favorite cozy side dish. There will also be plenty of chocolate. Feel free to bring some of your favorite chocolate to share.

January 29th Schedule:

  • ONE Worship Service at 11:00am (No early service at 8:45am on this day)
  • Potluck lunch at Noon
