COVID Response: Masks Now Required For Kids Programming Until Feb. 6
January 12, 2022
In response to the surge in the Omicron variant and overall uptick in illness throughout the community, the First Lutheran Council is making the following short-term adjustments to our COVID response.
Masks will be required for all children’s and youth programming within the church facility. This includes Sunday School, FROG classes, Confirmation, and FLY (First Lutheran Youth) group meetings. This requirement will be in place effective today, January 12th, through February 6th. At that point, council will reevaluate the situation. Masks will be available at the church for those who don’t have one upon arrival.
We continue to strongly recommend – but not require – mask wearing for all other activities at First Lutheran, including worship, Bible Studies, meals, ministry team meetings, etc. It’s our hope that everyone feels comfortable, safe, and welcome in our facility at all times. Please continue to use your best judgement when it comes to your health and safety. Wash your hands, practice safe distancing, and stay home if you feel ill. Additionally, show grace to those who choose to handle each situation differently than you. All are welcome in Christ’s church.
We know that not every decision will be popular and universally accepted. This is a short-term decision as we continue to navigate the ever-changing landscape of COVID and its variants. We appreciate your understanding.
Blessings to all.
