Project Overview

First Lutheran Church is planning a renovation project of office and meeting space. After a series of congregational listening sessions in the fall of 2019, and a subsequent congregational vote in November of 2019, it was decided to begin the planning process. A building committee and capital campaign committee were established. Wilkins Architecture firm was hired. When COVID-19 hit in March of 2020, all plans were put on hold. In Fall of 2021, plans were re-introduced to the congregation and received with mixed reviews. While some people were in favor of those plans as presented, others felt the scale of the project, timing, and costs were concerning.

Updated Plans & Budget

In early 2022, the Building Committee worked with Wilkins for a “Plan B” option that impacts less square footage and makes costs a little more manageable. After two listening sessions in September, the feedback was much more positive and support is growing.
