First Lutheran Youth (FLY) is open to all 9-12th graders who want to be part of a community that values being:
Real: We all get to be our authentic selves at FLY. We seek to accept one another unconditionally because God does the same for each of us.
Relational: There’s nothing better than opportunities to get to know each other for who we really are. It’s all about relationships. God’s mercy, grace, hope, and love are the context for everything.
Beloved: God claims you as God’s child. You matter to God and to this community!
A Place of Welcome: Adolescence is tough enough. Come here and take a load off. God promises to be with us on the journey, and we’ll remind you of that here.
@ 7:00-8:00 pm for rest, play, and nourishment for the journey of faith
Due to Covid precautions, we will meet outdoors on the East Lawn as long as weather permits. If we are not outside, we meet in the Lower Level Youth Room. Masks are currently required in our building, and we will provide one if you need.
@ 9:55-10:50 am: FLY meets for conversation on a variety of topics ranging from forgiveness to social justice in the downstairs Youth Room.
Due to Covid precautions, we are not serving breakfast at this time. You are welcome to bring a snack and beverage to eat/drink with minimal mask removal.
Synod Events, Fundraisers, Mission Trips & Service Projects
Throughout the year, FLY participates in Nebraska Synod-ELCA events, hosts fundraisers at First Lutheran for trips and retreats, and serves the church and community.
Mission trips and retreats are on hold through 2021. Options will be assessed at the end of 2020.
